Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State

Tsafe Local Government Area, located in Zamfara Central Senatorial District with headquarters in Chafe town, covers an area of 1,932 km². It borders Gusau LGA to the northwest, west, and south, and shares its northeastern and eastern boundaries with Katsina State. The LGA hosts the Tsafe Emirate and has a number of towns and villages within its territory such as Dokolo, Bilbis, Daji, Yan Doton Daji, Yankuzo, Kizara, Magazu, and Keta. The LGA had a population of 266,929 in 2006, projected to reach 474,900 by 2022 with a density of 245.8 people per km². Tsafe LGA serves as a hub for breeding and trading animals such as camels and donkeys, along with a vibrant trade sector supported by various markets.
