Maru LGA, Zamfara State

 Maru Local Government Area, with headquarters in Maru town, is located in Zamfara Central Senatorial District. Maru LGA is made up of several towns and villages which include Yar Galadima, Dansadu, Matankan, Dangulbi, Lingyado,Tungar Baush, Bindin, and Gidan Ardo. Spanning 7,421 km², it had a population of 293,141 in 2006, projected to reach 521,500 in 2022 with a population density of 70.28 people per km². A number of mineral deposits are found in Maru LGA, and these include Gold and limestone with the area widely known as a hub for the mining of these minerals. Other important economic activities undertaken by members of the Maru LGA include farming, cattle rearing, and trade.
