Birnin Magaji LGA, Zamfara State

Birnin Magaji/kiyaw Local Government Area is located in Zamfara North Senatorial District with its headquarters in Birnin Magaji (also known as Magare).  Towns and villages that make up Birnin Magaji include Buzuzu, Yargaladima, Bungudu, Birnin Magaji, Cigama, Modomawa, , Kuyawa,Gora, and Danfami Sabon Birimi. Birnin Magaji is bordered by Gusau, Zurmi, and Kaura Namoda and has an Emirate superintended over by the Emir of Birnin Magaji . It spans 1,234 km² and had a population of 184,083 in 2006, projected to reach 327,500 by 2022, with a population density of 265.3 people per km².  The LGA’s economy is largely driven by agriculture, including the cultivation of cereals and legumes, alongside animal rearing, hunting, and trade . The postal code for the area is 882, and it is situated at 12°33′00″N, 6°49′00″E .
