Bungudu Local Government Area is located in Zamfara Central Senatorial District with its headquarters in the town of Bungudu . The LGA comprises several towns and villages which include Sankalawa, Gada, Karakkai, Furfurri, Kwai-kwai, Kotorkoshi, Dashi, Kwatarkwashi, and Mashema .  It spans 2,078 km² and is situated at coordinates 12°16′00″N, 6°33′24″E. The area had a population of 258,644 in 2006, projected to reach 460,200 by 2022, with a density of 221.5 people per km². Bungudu LGA’s economy is primarily based on subsistence farming, producing a variety of crops, along with hunting and pottery-making as additional activities.
