Karasuwa LGA, Yobe State

Karasuwa Local Government Area, with headquarters in Jajimaji, is part of Yobe North Senatorial District. Created in 1996, Karasuwa covers an area of 1,322 square kilometres and had a population of 105,514 (2006 census), project to be at around 165,900 in 2022, resulting in a density of about 75 people per square kilometre. Agriculture, particularly vegetable and rice farming, is a mainstay of the economy. Karasuwa is known for its extensive wetlands.
