Fune Local Government Area, with headquarters in Damagum, is situated in the Yobe South Senatorial District of Yobe State. It was created in 1976 and spans an area of 5,633 square kilometres. The 2006 census recorded a population of 301,954, projected to be about 474,700 by 2022, resulting in a population density of approximately 95 people per square kilometre. The economy is agriculturally driven, with significant focus on grain and livestock farming such as cattle, goats, and donkeys. Fune is also known for the Bursari-Damagum Road and historical sites like old clay potteries. Flowing through Fune LGA is the Komadugu Gana River.
