Fika LGA, Yobe State

Fika Local Government Area, headquartered in the town of Fika, is located in Yobe South Senatorial District of Yobe State, Nigeria. It was established in 1976, covering 2,852 square kilometres, and had a population of 136,736 (2006 census), projected to reach around 215,000 in 2022, equating to a population density of about 49 people per square kilometre. Agriculture, especially the cultivation of beans and millet, forms the economic base. Fika is notable for the Potiskum Emirate and the historic Fika Emirate Palace.
