Gada LGA, Sokoto State

Gada Local Government Area is located in Sokoto East Senatorial District, with its headquarters in the town of Gada. It shares a northern border with the Niger Republic and encompasses several towns and villages, including Kyadawa-Holai, Ilah-Dukamaje, Gilbadi, Kaffe, Tsitse, Kadadi, Kadassaka, Kaddi, Kiri, and Kwarma . Covering an area of 1,414 km², Gada LGA had a population of 249,051 as of the 2006 census, with a projected increase to 429,900 in 2022, resulting in a population density of 304.0 people per km²  . The majority of Gada’s inhabitants are of Hausa and Fulani heritage, with Hausa and Fufulde being the primary languages spoken . Agriculture is a key economic activity in the area, focusing on crops such as onions, rice, sorghum, and millet. Animal rearing also contributes significantly to the economy, with livestock such as donkeys, rams, and cattle raised in the region.
