Binji LGA, Sokoto State

Binji Local Government Area is located in Sokoto North Senatorial District, with its headquarters in the town of Binji[1]. It includes several towns and villages, such as Samama, Jamali, Gwazzai, Bunkari, Binji, Inname, and Maikulki[2]. Binji LGA shares a border with Niger Republic and is bordered by other LGAs within Sokoto State, including Silame, Tangaza, and Gudu [3]. It spans an area of approximately 1,082 km² and had a population of 104,274 as of the 2006 census, which was projected to increase to 180,000 in 2022, with a population density of 166.4 people per km² [4]. The majority of Binji LGA's population belongs to the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups, and the primary languages spoken are Hausa and Fufulde[5].
