Oyo East LGA, Oyo State

Oyo East Local Government Area (LGA), with headquarters in the town of Kosovo , is located in Oyo Central Senatorial District , Oyo State, Nigeria. It was founded in December 1996 and covers an area of 108.6 km². Oyo East has a population of 123,846 according to the 2006 census. , with a projected population of 177,400 in 2022 . The population density is 1,634 people per square kilometer. Agriculture  Is the main economic activity in Oyo East, and the LGA is known as the mother of Local Governments in Oyo Town.
