Ona Ara LGA, Oyo State

Ona Ara Local Government Area (LGA), with headquarters in the town of Akanran , is located in the Central Senatorial District, Oyo State, Nigeria.  It was created in 1989  and has a population of 265,059 according to the 2006 census, with a projected population of 379,500 in 2022 . The total area of Ona Ara is 235 km², with a population density of 1,190 people per square kilometer. The LGA is primarily agrarian, with farming as the dominant economic activity. The geo-coordinates 7°16'59.99" N 4°01'59.99" E .
