Ifedayo LGA, Osun State

Ifedayo LGA, headquartered in Oke-Ila Orangun, is located in the Osun Central Senatorial District of Osun State. Created in 1996, it covers an area of approximately 128 square kilometers and had a population of 37,058 in 2006, projected to reach about 58,200 by 2022. The LGA is primarily agrarian, with yam, cassava, maize, cocoa, and vegetables as major crops. Farming, local trade, and small-scale businesses are the main economic activities. The people of Ifedayo are predominantly Yoruba, particularly of the Igbomina subgroup, and are known for their rich cultural heritage and strong community values. Traditional celebrations such as the Orangun Festival help preserve the customs and history of the area.
