Obot Akara Local Government Area (LGA) is situated in Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District, with its headquarters at Nto Edino. Established as an administrative division in Akwa Ibom State, the LGA spans a land area of 268.1 square kilometres. Its population, recorded at 147,286 in 2006, was projected to reach 188,000 by 2022, resulting in a population density of approximately 701.2 people per square kilometer.
