Ijebu North East LGA with headquarters in Atan/Ijebu Igbo , is part of Ogun East Senatorial District. The LGA was created in 1979 , it spans an area of 145.3 square kilometers with a 2006 census population of 118,120, which grew to a 2022 projection of 117,000, resulting in a population density of 805 people per square kilometer .The LGA’s economy is dominated by the timber business due to local sawmills.
