Borgu Local Government Area (LGA), with headquarters in New Bussa, is part of the Niger North Senatorial District in Niger State. Borgu was created in 1991 and covers 4,300 square kilometers. The LGA has a population of around 172,835 (2006 census), with an estimated population of 296,500 by 2022.
