Mushin LGA, Lagos State

Mushin Local Government Area, located in the Lagos West Senatorial District, is known for its vibrant economic and industrial activities. It is home to several prominent markets, including Daleko Rice Market, the largest rice market in West Africa; Ladipo Market, renowned for auto spare parts; and Idi Oro, a hub for orange sales. The area had a population of 631,857 in 2006, projected to rise to 935,400 by 2022, with a population density of 55,000 people per square kilometre. Mushin spans 17.01 square kilometres, making it one of Lagos’s most densely populated areas. The LGA is also notable for its industrial estate and Amu Plank Market, a major hub for timber sales.
