Lagos Island Local Government Area (LGA) is located in the Lagos Central Senatorial District and serves as a historic and economic hub of Lagos State. With a land area of just 5.048 square kilometres, it had a population of 212,700 in 2006, which grew to an estimated 314,900 by 2022, resulting in a staggering population density of 62,378 people per square kilometre .
