Ifako/ijaye LGA, Lagos State

Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area (LGA), established on October 1, 1996, by General Sani Abacha, was carved out of Agege Local Government. It is situated within Lagos State, with its administrative headquarters located in Ifako. The LGA spans 32.21 square kilometres and had a recorded population of 427,737 in 2006, which grew to an estimated 633,200 by 2022. This increase brings its population density to approximately 19,656 people per square kilometre . Geographically, Ifako-Ijaiye is located at coordinates 06°41′05″N latitude and 03°17′20″E longitude. Economically, the area thrives on its robust trade sector, supported by key markets like the Obawole Market and the Ojodu Market, where residents engage in buying and selling a variety of goods and services
