Olamaboro LGA, Kogi State

Olamaboro is a Local Government Area in the southeast of Kogi State bordering Enugu State and Benue State with its headquarters in the town of Okpo in Kogi East Senatorial District.  Major towns in the LGA include Imani, Ogodu, Okpo, Adumu, Enabo, Ofenwa, Ojamakogwu, Eboyi, and Akpagidigbo.  The LGA covers an area of 1,123 km², with a population of 158,490 in 2006, projected to grow to 213,600 in 2022, giving it a density of 190.3/km². The people of Olamaboro speaks Igala which is one of the major languages in Kogi state. Olamaboro LGA has a rich agricultural sector with the area known for the cultivation of a variety of food and cash crops. A number of festivals such as the Ote-egwu festival are held in Olamboro LGA.
