Dekina LGA, Kogi State

Dekina  Local Government Area (LGA) with its headquarters in the town of Dekina in Kogi East Senatorial District. It comprises towns and villages such as Ologba, Ulaja, Oduate, Adoloko, Olowa, Ijoji, Agala, Birdu, and Acharu. Covering 2,461 km², Dekina LGA had a 2006 census population of 260,968, projected to reach 351,700 in 2022, with a density of 142.9/km².  A number of colourful festivals are held in Dekina LGA such as the Egbe festival and the Igala cultural festival.
