Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area (LGA), located in the southern part of Kebbi State, Nigeria, is part of the historic Zuru Emirate region. The headquarters of the LGA is Ribah town, while other notable settlements include Wasagu, Bena, and Danko. The LGA covers approximately 4,016 square kilometers and had a population of 265,203 according to the 2006 census, with projected estimates for 2022 placing the population at about 453,200. Danko/Wasagu is primarily an agrarian region where crops such as millet, maize, rice, sorghum, and beans are widely cultivated. Livestock rearing and local trading also contribute significantly to the economy. The area is predominantly inhabited by Hausa and Fulani communities and forms an important part of the cultural landscape of southern Kebbi State. Danko/Wasagu is located around latitude 11°25′N and longitude 5°40′E.
