Zangon Kataf LGA, Kaduna State

Zangon Kataf Local Government Area (LGA), located in the southern Kaduna Senatorial District of Kaduna State, Nigeria, was established in 1989. Carved out of the former Kachia LGA, it covers an area of approximately 2,489 square kilometers. The administrative center of Zangon Kataf LGA is situated in the town of Zonkwa.The 2006 national census recorded a population of about 318,991 people in the area. However, projections for 2022 estimate the population to have grown to 471,300, resulting in a population density of approximately 182.7 people per square kilometer.Agriculture serves as the main economic activity for the residents of Zangon Kataf.
