Sanga LGA, Kaduna State

Sanga Local Government Area (LGA) also known as Igbunbu, headquartered in Gwantu, is situated within Kaduna State's Southern Senatorial District. Its borders touch Jema'a LGA to the west, and extend to Plateau State, bordering Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, and Riyom LGAs to the east. To the south, Sanga LGA shares boundaries with Akwanga, Karu, Kokona, and Wamba LGAs in Nasarawa State.Covering a land area of 735 square kilometers, Sanga LGA was home to approximately 151,485 residents as per the 2006 census. The 2022 estimated population is 223,800, with a density of about 123 people per square kilometer.Agriculture serves as the mainstay of Sanga’s economy, with the majority of residents engaged in the cultivation of staple crops such as sugarcane, onion, rice.The LGA's postal code is 801.
