Ikara Local Government Area (LGA), with administrative headquarters in Ikara Town, is located in the Kaduna North Senatorial District of Nigeria. Established in 1976, the LGA is historically and socio-economically significant within the region. The 2006 census recorded a population of 194,723. However, by 2022, the estimated population had grown to 287,700, leading to an increased population density of 277.2 inhabitants per square kilometer.
