Guri LGA, Jigawa State

Guri Local Government Area (LGA), located in Jigawa North-East Senatorial District, has its headquarters in the town of Guri. The LGA includes towns and villages such as Garin-Mai Ung, Bulama, Garin Buluma, Kadira, Margadu, Ladiya, Musari, Dagana, and Guri with the Bade language majorly spoken by its inhabitants  . Spanning an area of 1,045 km², Guri LGA had a population of 113,363 at the 2006 census, projected to reach 194,900 in 2022, resulting in a population density of 186.4/km²  . Farming is the primary occupation in Guri, with crops like onions, tomatoes, and rice being widely cultivated. The area is also known for animal rearing, particularly donkeys and cows .
