Garki Local Government Area (LGA) is located in Jigawa North-West Senatorial District, with its headquarters in Garki town. It encompasses towns and villages like Chakurawa, Balarabe, Babande, Dantsoro, Kanyar, Kurgungun, Tuya, and Makadi . Spanning 1,386km², the LGA had a population of 150,261 as of 2006, projected to reach 258,400 in 2022 with a density of 186.5/km²  .
