Aboh Mbaise LGA, Imo State

Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area is situated in Imo state of the Southeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria and has its headquarters in Aboh town. It is amongst the local governments that make up Imo East senatorial zone. As of the 2006 census, the area had a population of approximately 194,779 and spanned  183.0 square kilometers. By 2022, the population was projected to increase to around 270,700. The area comprises of a number of towns and villages which include Aboh, Amohuru, Eziala, Ezuhu, Umaumadi, and Egberede. The local government area is renowned for its agricultural activities, complemented by thriving trade. Prominent markets, such as Orie Avuru and Nkwo Mbaise, play a significant role in driving the economic development of the region. The LGA’s postal code is 462 with approximate coordinates: 5°27′N 7°14′E.
