Oye Local Government Area (LGA), part of the Ekiti North Senatorial District in Ekiti State, Nigeria, was established on May 17, 1989, following its separation from the former Ekiti North LGA . Covering an expansive 579.4 square kilometres, Oye LGA had an estimated population of 206,300 in 2022, with a population density of 356 people per square kilometre, up from 137,796 in 2006. Trade plays a central role in Oye’s economy, supported by bustling marketplaces such as Menara Market, where locals buy and sell a diverse range of goods.
