Ezza North LGA, Ebonyi State

Ezza North is a local government area in Ebonyi State Nigeria. Its headquarters is at Ebiaji town in Ebonyi Central Senatorial District . It comprises several towns and villages which include Amazu, Ndufu, Ekka, Azuakparata, Oriuozor, Umuome, Amana, and Ohaike . It has an area of 391.1 km2, a population of 146,149 at the 2006 census which was projected to reach 217,700, and a projected population density of 556.6/km² . Ezza North was created in 1996 and it is located at 6.2829° N, 7.9811° E. The indigenes are primarily known for agriculture, especially rice yam, cassava, and cocoyam cultivation, and livestock rearing . Trade also blossoms in the area with the LGA hosting several markets such as the Eke Imoha market. Indigenous festivals held in Ezza North LGA include the Oke Aku and the Mgba Ekka festivals .
