Ebonyi LGA, Ebonyi State

Ebonyi Local Government Area (LGA) has its headquarters in the town of Ugbodo. The LGA is composed of towns and villages such as Amachi, Izzi Unuhu, Ishieke, Edda, Amagu, Nkaleke, Achara, and Okpui-Tumo. It spans a landmass of 400.7 km² and had a population of 127,226 in the 2006 census, projected to increase to 189,500 by 2022, with a population density of 473.0/km²[1]. The LGA is predominantly agrarian, with crops like rice, yam, maize, and cassava cultivated in significant quantities. Ebonyi LGA is notable for its rice mills and the presence of mineral resources, including salt, limestone, gypsum, and granite[2].
