Afikpo South LGA, Ebonyi State

Afikpo South Local Government Area, with its headquarters in Edda Town, is part of the Ebonyi South Senatorial District. Established in 1996, it covers an area of approximately 331 square kilometres and had a population of about 157,072 according to the 2006 census, projected to be over 270,000 in 2022. The population density is estimated at around 475 people per square kilometre.
