Buruku LGA, Benue State

Buruku Local Government Area (LGA), with its headquarters in Buruku Town, lies in the Benue North-West Senatorial District. Created in 1991, it covers an area of 1,417 square kilometers. The population was around 206,215 (2006 census), with a density of about 163 people per square kilometer. Buruku's economy is mainly based on agriculture, with crops like yams, soybeans, and sesame, along with fishing along the River Katsina-Ala.
