Katagum LGA, Bauchi State

Katagum Local Government Area, headquartered in Azare Town, is a key LGA in the Bauchi North Senatorial District. Created in 1976, it spans 1,395 square kilometres and had a population of about 293,020 (2006 census) and projected to be 523,200, with a density of 206 people per square kilometre.

Katagum is a commercial and educational center, with economic activities including agriculture (groundnuts, beans, and millet) and trade.
