Osun State Audited Financial Report For 2024
The Office of the Auditor-General for Local Governments in Osun State has officially released its annual audit report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2024, uncovering a mixture of massive statutory inflows and deep-seated systemic infractions across all 30 Local Government Councils. The report, signed by Auditor-General Ishaq Oyewole Awotunde, presents a comprehensive evaluation of the councils' General Purpose Financial Statements (GPFS), prepared under the internationally recognized IPSAS Accrual Basis of Accounting. While Awotunde certified that the financial statements generally offer a "true and fair view" of the state’s local finances, the document pulls back the curtain on severe internal control failures, non-compliance with due process in revenue collection, and a lack of transparency in traditional council disbursements.
